Can you dig ittttttttttttttttt????

I watched Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservation the other day. I would really like him to come to Batang Berjuntai and taste the nasi korek-korek. So, what is nasi korek-korek actually? It is actually chicken meat, cut into pieces, and cooked with ginger. Then, why is it called nasi korek-korek? Because in Batang Berjuntai and Kuala Selangor, the chicken is hid under the rice that you have to dig into the rice to get the chicken, hence the name korek-korek which when loosely translated becomes dig-dig. XD Why am I writing about this? Because today I ate chicken cooked with ginger, rice and tomyam. A bad attempt to imitate nasi korek-korek.

I cooked that egg. That’s the only thing that I’m good at anyway.

  1. Dulu ayam suma letak kat bawah nasi, so leh la korek..skrg tukang masak suma da malas, letak je kat atas nasik tu..mcm nasi biasa...da takda significance da istilah 'korek2' tu.
